CONSEPS ÇHARGES UP WITH HIS LATEST SINGLE- 'DUSTY
After the successful return to the Australian hip hop scene in 2019, Adelaide veteran Conseps has positioned himself to become one of the biggest rises in 2020. After the release of his 2019 album Full Circle, he continues this trajectory with his latest single Dusty. This follows the video for the 2019 underground hit SOUFLYFE, which landed him support slots for Adelaide heavy hitter Alerts and Canadian heavyweight Merkules.
Continuing his evolution as an artist, Dusty is a prime example of the direction Conseps is going, flexing his gritty yet well constructed rhymes. Centred around a catchy yet undeniably quirky hook, Dusty also utilises the talents of Hip Hop pioneer Sesta (Funkoars), who contributes a dark, heavy, trap banger, and Simplex, who dexterously mans the track mix. Conseps delivers relentless bars with his unique action packed spitfire delivery.
Conseps says:
‘I wrote the hook in about 20 mins and recorded it that day, the first line I wrote was ‘Gotta fend em off like Dusty’ which set off the track. I wrote the first verse on the eve of the 2019 AFL grand final and the last verse after he took out best on ground. Like most songs, I wanted this tied up within the week. I knew this would be my next single once it was finished'
Continuing the moody, grimy aura created by Dusty, the accompanying video (filmed by DNA creative media) was filmed in Conseps’ hometown of Adelaide, and evokes the darkness of the local footy ground at midnight. Next up, Conseps will be looking to secure more support slots on the live circuit and continue working on his next release titled Colourful Language, which is due for release in winter 2020.
Dusty is available to stream now.
